1 What is a mackerel?
Mackerel belongs to the mackerel genus with the scientific name Decapterus. Mackerel is small in size, round and slightly flattened, with silvery-gray or dark gray skin, slightly shiny. Mackerel have large, slightly protruding eyes and have finlets located behind each dorsal fin.
